A luxurious forest retreat experience where individuals of all walks of life can come to elevate their energy.
Where healers and facilitators guide towards transformation.
Blending nature’s wisdom, intentional movement, and mindful nourishment to cultivate holistic well-being.
Founded by jewelry designer and yoga teacher Rachel Burklund, reflecting her passion for art and her belief that beauty and healing flow from the same source.
Nestled on Tiger Mountain in Issaquah, Washington, Mosslight began as a vision to reimagine the home as an intimate retreat where the healing modalities of yoga, art, and nature could come together in harmony.
During the renovation in 2023, Rachel faced a personal trial of a Stage 3 cancer diagnosis. As she guided construction through chemo and radiation, the process became more than design; it was a spiritual practice. Sometimes barely able to stand, she found strength and encouragement in the moss growing on the property. Resilient, quiet, and with some varieties being able to survive 5 years without water. Through that transformation, Mosslight emerged as a living symbol of renewal and light.
The name Mosslight embodies this dual essence. Moss represents resilience, softness, and connection to the earth. Light speaks to the soul’s illumination and the abundance of natural light on the property. Together, they represent the balance between grounding and transcendence, shadow and radiance, matter and spirit.
Mosslight now serves as a gathering place for retreats, yoga, meditation, and workshops. Every detail from its geometric accents, forest views, and calming palette was designed as an expression of art and intention. The retreat honors the ancient roots of yoga while celebrating modern design, natural materials, and the energy of the surrounding forest.
Mosslight is more than a place. It’s a vibration. A space of oneness, courage, and beauty, where guests are invited to pause, reconnect, and journey towards wholeness.
